Born Into Heaven

Well, this was a club I didn't sign up for. I never truly knew this club existed until I basically received the invitation I didn't want an invite to. Still birth wasn't a frequent topic of discussion; miscarriages or anything.

Hours
2 years ago today I was the most broken, for months. I lost a piece of myself that I never got the chance to experience. I’m not sure if you’re familiar with that feeling of being lost, empty and alone but it takes you to a very, very dark place. 36 weeks in my pregnancy my son no longer had a heartbeat, and what was a placenta abruption? I’d never heard of that at the time. Up just didn’t seem like a possibility at all. Today, 2 years later I can say whole heartily that I’ve learned that God will use broken people to get a light through. Sometimes, it takes sharing a small slither of losses and brokenness in order to be a light for others. The process of experiencing joy and restoration was a choice I made to be apart of my healing journey. I cried for days, months, weeks, and for 24 hours straight one day and I reached my point.

It has been a lot of private heart healing that had to happen. Losing DJ opened my heart up to healing in ways that I didn’t anticipate. My healing journey became mine. Soul care was taken to a whole different level. I reshaped my whole life through this journey. I never expected it to be this way. I didn’t want to be “fake” happy, I wanted to experience real life joy. So I choose healing in every part of my heart, body, and mind. I sat with my grief, in it, took my time and I was okay with not being okay. I accepted that until I organically started to feel a shift. I accepted each stage, and walked with it. You can carry your grief like a backpack or drag it behind you either way its yours and it is a choice.

Whatever my story may mean to or for you, I hope you find beauty through the dark times. I hope that you know you are loved. I’ve become a sister for many other baby loss moms. I can’t wait to be that sister for my future health coaching clients as well. I can’t explain this new found peace all that well, but I know it exists. If God found me worthy of it 2 years later, please know that you are also. I love you all — thank you for alway loving on my wellbeing and making space for me throughout my healing journey. Happy 2nd birthday DJ 💙

I’ve been away for a little while, but with great intention. If you watch my stories I’m always sharing something😂. But the balance I’ve learned is that sometimes you have to work on you in private. All areas don’t require the spot light. The inner work always glows. Investing in my heart more — plus February is a special month for many reasons and i like to use this month to always focus on my inner needs. Happy Saturday!

I wanted to interview some women who are out here managing their business, community and themselves. Wearing many hats, going through womanhood but still getting things done.
•
•
It’s powerful when we can feed off each other and learn how we each care for ourselves during each season.

I’m so floored right now. I didn’t know in a million years I’d be focused on educating myself in women’s fertility and hormonal health.
•
•
I didn’t know losing my son and my experience would bring me here. I’m a problem solver by nature so yes, I started immediately trying to get the break down of this issue and solve the problem almost 2 years ago.
•
•
I can’t even explain to you HOW God is bringing these doulas, fertility coaches into my life right now. These women are finding ME. Black women at that, that are out here doing the work and have agreed to mentor me.
•
•
If that isn’t God confirming purpose. I don’t know what else to say. I can not wait to advocate for US more. We need that voice in the OBGYN’s room, at the doctors appointments, and delivery. We need to know what’s going on in our bodies and or why we can’t conceive.
•
•
I am 1000% committed to this journey. My heart and my story is in it. Whew!! ❤️

Balanced blood sugar is one of the three major keys to balanced hormonal health. Lately, with my high blood sugar I’ve focused on removing sugar to actually balance my blood sugar levels. Sugar plays a big part in our overall hormonal balance. So yes, there are levels to this.
•
•
You should consider doing a sugar detox, as well as making some changes to aid in the reduction of sugar in the body.
•
•
A few things such as👇🏾:
•
•
1️⃣Processed or packaged foods (AKA anything not natural. White flour, white sugar, additives, preservatives, and refine grains.)
2️⃣Artificial Sweeteners (fake sugars cause inflammation).
3️⃣Late night snacking (Food can turn into sugar in the body while you rest, also adds stress to the liver system).
4️⃣Coffee ( Don’t hate me I’m just the messenger here. But, the caffeine in coffee increases your sugar level, also your adrenals. Great alternative is a natural form of caffeine like matcha).
5️⃣Alcohol (AKA sugar! If you’re like me I had to cut out wine this month to re-balance my levels. Limit yourself to 2 to 3 drinks per week but after your food. Also avoid mixing your drink with mixers that have high fructose and corn syrup).
6️⃣STRESS (Drains our system of serotonin and dopamine; and our brain replaces that with sugar as it gives us the same affect.) •
•
These all make an impact on your desire to lose weight, experience less stress/anxiety, and boost your energy. So, as you may be starting this year off in the gym or doing a detox keep this in mind to better support your system. Remember the change you want to see physically starts internally and it starts in the kitchen.

My word for 2018 was elevation. Elevation in every single way in my life. I’ve been on a heart journey this year. Promising myself to fill my heart up with more authentic desires. Also, not allowing people to hold space that didn’t align with the value I put on myself. That was my biggest struggle.
•
•
I started this year with 1 job, and 2 side hustles. I got a promotion that paid me what all 3 jobs paid. I was lost, confused, and unsure of my purpose. I was frustrated because it felt so hard. I was doing what I seen others doing, but still not walking in my calling. I knew I wanted to be a health coach so I signed up on impulse and committed to it.
•
•
This last quarter has stretched me. I’ve been walking a fine line balancing everything. Working 40 hours a week, 10 hours a week in school, joined a business coaching program and finally found my calling. I learned that my story is apart of my purpose. My journey through loss, life, and being a woman is apart of my way to serve to women.
•
•
I’m so grateful for 2018. You’ve helped me level up, and realized how strong I truly am. I’m graced to be on this journey, I smile more, I laugh a lot, and I am divine. I’ve met some amazing women this year that have shaped my womanhood in tremendous ways. I’m excited for 2019 for so many reasons. I don’t have my word for next year but I know it’ll be filled with beauty, love, and light. Happy New Year!🎊 •

Let’s start taking better care of ourselves, and start with the small things.
•
•
-Drinking 1/2 your body weight in water
-Asking the questions you need at the doctors office. Don’t treat it like a gas station transaction, don’t just pay, pump, and go. -Getting a full 8 hours rest.
-Not waiting so late in the day to eat, and wonder why we feel hangry, fatigued, and exhausted.
-Eating so late at night and waking up hungry because you ate something to spike your blood sugar when you should have nutrient dense meals.
•
•
Your body deserves all the love and care. Set high desires, and create a high experience for your body. Treat it like the million dollar vibe you want to experience in your life overall. Let’s stop doing “temporary things,” that aren’t sustainable to our health. Be mindful, learn more, ask questions, connect with health practitioners to support your evolution and glow up internally.
